Call for Papers
The 70th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association of Geographers will take place at the University of Victoria, May 25-29, 2020, in conjunction with the Association of Canadian Map Libraries and Archives (ACMLA) and the Canadian Cartographic Association (CCA). The theme, “Resilience on a Dynamic Planet,” will bring together both physical and human geographers from across the country and beyond.
Participants from all areas of Geography and related disciplines are welcome to submit individual abstracts for the following formats:
- Paper presentation (20 minutes)
- Poster display
Organizers may also propose sessions (90 minutes) in any of the following formats:
- Special Session
- Roundtable / Panel
Organizers of special sessions are encouraged to have participants identify the organized session in the appropriate field upon submission of their abstract. Most sessions will have three to four presenters.

Dates & Deadlines
31 January 2020: Special Session submission deadline.
EXTENDED DEADLINE: 15 March 2020: Individual paper / Poster submission deadline.
15 March 2020: Early bird registration deadline.
31 March 2020: Registration deadline for participants wishing to have their abstracts included in the conference program*.
Registration entitles you to participate in the CAG 2020 conference. You will have access to keynote talks, conference sessions all day, and refreshments. Conference delegates who register before 15 March, 2020 will receive an early bird discount on their fees. Regular registration fees apply beginning 16 March, 2020.
* Please note that inclusion of abstracts in the conference program is contingent upon paid registration by the presenter on or before 31 March 2020. After this date, all abstracts not matching a paid registration will be removed.
